Charity of the Year

Each year the Foundation will choose one major charity to support. Our charity of the year selection is inspired by causes close to the hearts of our people.

For 2022/23, our charity of the year was Maggie’s cancer charity, which helps people take back control when cancer turns their lives upside down. The total donated to Maggie’s Cancer Centres by the Trust was an amazing £35,940.

Our charity of the year for 2023/24 is the Heel and Toe Foundation who provide support for young people with Cerebral Palsy, inspired by the experience of one of our employees.

Our Amazing People

We aim to inspire and enable our employees to make a difference. This is why, each year through the Foundation Trust, we pledge to match the money of our employees raised from fundraising activities up to £3,000 per employee.

Since launching the Foundation, our amazing people have undertaken a huge range of events in support of various initiatives and charities such as Iron Man challenges, skydives, coffee mornings, full and half marathons and raffles. We are incredibly proud all of our their achievements and are proud to support their donations!

Supporting our ESG Outcomes

The Foundation is an extension of our ESG strategy and our drive for positive social and environmental impact.

To maximise our investments, we have created two partnerships which each receive £20,000 a year over a 3 year period. The partnerships launched in April 2023 will deliver real and long term impacts in the communities we work in and to the natural environment.

We are proud to confirm that these two partnerships are with Earth Trust and Sports Connect.

Earth Trust

Earth Trust are an environmental charity that inspires people to address biodiversity, climate, and public health crises through the power of natural green spaces. Our partnership programme 'Inspiring Future Green Leaders' is:

  • Providing access to green space and environmental education to hundreds of children from schools in Reading
  • Creating a community of schools focused on the importance of education for the environment
  • Inspiring and helping to create the Earth guardians of the future
