As part of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and our continued commitment to support the development of better communities that are fit for the future, we are delighted to announce that we are now associate members of the Future Homes Hub. The Future Homes Hub is a not-for-profit organisation that has been established to facilitate collaboration amongst the housebuilding sector to help it meet environmental challenges and the Government's wider net zero targets. Members of the Hub aim to work together on a broad range of important topics including the Future Homes Standard, embodied and whole life carbon, biodiversity net gain and resource efficiency.

In September 2020, the Future Homes Task Force was set up to develop a long-term delivery plan to meet the needs of the Government's legally binding environmental targets, which in turn led to the Future Homes Delivery Plan. The plan is divided into four key areas; the operation of the home, production and construction, planning and placemaking and the business as a whole. As a Group, we understand the impact of our industry and ultimately, feel strongly about our collective responsibility to support the delivery of higher quality homes by supporting initiatives like the Future Homes Delivery Plan.

New homes are undergoing rapid change to be ready for the climate and environmental challenges of the 21st century. No area of the economy is moving faster in this transition than the homes we build; the new homes sector will be nature positive through biodiversity net gain in 2023 and will be zero-carbon in operation through the Future Homes Standard in 2025.

We have a collective responsibility to deliver the sector’s climate and environmental targets while building higher quality homes at the scale needed. We can only do this if we all work together. I am therefore delighted that Brickability Group PLC has joined the Future Homes Hub to be part of this positive change.

Becoming members of the Hub is just another step in our ESG journey and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with our customers and supply chain to overcome barriers and develop approaches that can be rolled out across the sector.
